Chromium(VI)-free is not chromium-free
SurTec describes the product as a trivalent-chromium passivation. State the alloy and any customer restrictions on chemical content explicitly in the enquiry.
Contacts and subsequent painting
Identify electrical contact areas, surfaces to be painted and any masking. Describe the next operation and its owner. If a numerical contact-resistance or adhesion requirement applies, include the test method and acceptance limit.
Product approvals and the finished component
A chemical supplier's product approval is not automatically a qualification of every applicator or a certificate for every finished part. Provide the actual customer specification and edition, any qualification requirement and the expected documentation.
